In recent years there have been several major incidents of workers coming to harm from falls whilst servicing tops of Tank Containers .
This type of accident can be fatal however the nature of the work is such that it is very difficult to design out the need for the work.
A 57-year-old truck driver was killed when he fell from the top of a tanker truck while attempting to close the lid. The victim had been employed for three years with a trucking company that employed 2,200 workers nationwide.
